Video Description: This video is about teaching some of the difficult multiplication facts (6x7, 7x7, 8x7, 8x8, 4x8) by making connections to facts that are already known. The student is encouraged to draw lines between what she knows and what she just learned. The focus is on doubling and on “Breaking up the Number” to “Make the Problem Simpler.” Notice how the student is able to add left to right and regroup in her head without writing down the numbers and line them up.
